Nina Bartley (Baby and the Greys) is a Blue Mountains based multidisciplinary artist whose surreal portraiture and dreamlike environments blur the boundary between the internal and physical world. Her practice explores the liminal space between opposites: grief and hope, vulnerability and comfort, isolation and connection. Referencing Japanese pop culture, digital folklore and esoteric symbolism, her work features isolated figures alongside recurring motifs of tiled rooms, clouds, portals and the third eye, creating uncanny, otherworldly spaces. Through continued exploration of these themes, Nina creates work that offers viewers a space for contemplation and emotional recognition, reflecting shared experiences of longing, loss, intimacy and human connection. Working across digital illustration, animation, printmaking and installation, Nina was awarded first place in the 2026 Adobe Digital Art Prize for illustration, as well as TAFE NSW Visual Arts Cert III awards for painting and sculpture in 2025. Her recent projects include The Silence Between at Pocket Ari in Katoomba and You Can Stand Here, which will be exhibited at Holy Art Gallery in Tokyo in October 2026.
