biography

Robert has Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (UTS) and a Masters of Business Administration (MGSM). He acheived an executive role at a USA multinational technology company managing the Asia Pacific Region, before following his passion for the outdoors. In 2015 Robert purchased Summit Gear, a company that retails outdoor adventure equipment as well as manufacturing bags and packs for recreational and emergency service customers. In 2024 Robert founded and launched a new brand - Whippa! Whippa is now Australia's largest designer and manufacturer of Ultralight hiking, climbing and mountaineering packs - all built in the Blue Mountains - Katoomba. Whippa's focus is to design and manufacture packs that are lighter, stronger and better than any other packs available.

The City of the Blue Mountains is located within the Ngurra (Country) of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. MTNS MADE recognises that Dharug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners have a continuous and deep connection to their Country and that this is of great cultural significance to Aboriginal people, both locally and in the region.
