I create one of a kind upcycled garments under the brand SLUGMOTH. SLUGMOTH is a project in recycling, composting, rebirthing. It is slow, conscious, ethical fashion as a medicine against the industry of fast and disposable fashion. It is small scale offerings, direct from the maker. Everything is made in my home studio in beautiful Katoomba. My creative process is mixed media collaging meet textile craft experiements expressed as wearable art. I make gender neutral clothing items through a process of stitching, sewing, painting, printing and repurposing garments into new life. I have a past in fashion design, set and costume design, and architectural design. Also an illustrator, I've explored many mediums of art making and creating. I am led back time and time again to working with textiles. SLUGMOTH has been a space for the meeting of my many artistic avenues, a place to play and create from a place of authenticity and self.
