Fi creates one of a kind upcycled garments under the brand SLUGMOTH. SLUGMOTH is a project in recycling, composting, rebirthing. It is slow, conscious, ethical fashion as a medicine against the industry of fast and disposable fashion. It is small scale offerings, direct from the maker. Everything is made in Fi's home studio in beautiful Katoomba. Fi's work could be described as mixed media collaging meets textile craft experiments expressed as wearable art. They make gender neutral clothing items through a process of stitching, sewing, painting, printing and repurposing garments into new life. Fi has a history in fashion design, set and costume design, and architectural design. Also an illustrator, they have explored many mediums of art making and creating. They are led back time and time again to working with textiles. SLUGMOTH has been a space for the meeting of Fi's many artistic avenues, a place where they can create playfully and intuitively, making creations that mirror varying iterations of self. Offerings are sold through their website SLUGMOTH.COM. Fi is also available for custom clothing design and creation, as well as costume design and illustration projects.
