Wentworth Falls
This November 7 & 8 as part of the Australian Ceramics Open Studios, Kate Sutton is opening her studio in Wentworth Falls. "This is my first year, but hopefully there'll be something for everyone: - Original Ceramics for Sale: A selection of everyday functional ware, sculptural forms, and one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. - Studio Open House: A look behind the scenes of a working ceramic studio, including some exhibition items and works in progress. - Informal Artist Chat & Demonstrations: I’ll be talking through my process and I'm happy to answer any questions. - Tea, Cake & Community: Tea, sweet treats (made by @martynhaigh), and relaxed conversation. - Accessible & Easy: Free entry and all welcome. And if you decide to purchase work, both cash and contactless card payments are accepted." There is a whole trail of talented potters and ceramic artists opening their doors across the region. You can get artists address and map out your studio crawl using TACA’s public directory: https://members.australianceramics.com/openstudios (no membership required) Drop by, say hello, and celebrate local makers.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NGURRA

The City of the Blue Mountains is located within the Ngurra (Country) of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. MTNS MADE recognises that Dharug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners have a continuous and deep connection to their Country and that this is of great cultural significance to Aboriginal people, both locally and in the region. For Dharug and Gundungurra People, Ngurra takes in everything within the physical, cultural and spiritual landscape – landforms, waters, air, trees, rocks, plants, animals, foods, medicines, minerals, stories and special places. It includes cultural practice, kinship, knowledge, songs, stories and art, as well as spiritual beings, and people: past, present and future. Blue Mountains City Council pays respect to Elders past and present while recognising the strength, capacity and resilience of past and present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Blue Mountains region.
