Penrith City Council

project description

Penrith City Council is committed to ensuring the Penrith City area thrives with the resources, facilities, and programs needed to serve their diverse community. To achieve this, they delve into demographic data provided by the Census to uncover the needs of each community within their suburbs. While these statistics are crucial for the future of each community, the raw data can be difficult to interpret. Penrith City Council engaged the Weekday team to bring the numbers to life by crafting compelling copy around the data to create a strong narrative and clear key messages. Our designers then developed infographics using these statistics to produce engaging PowerPoint slides, summary documents, and pull-up banners, ensuring that suburbs and communities of interest were accurately and attractively represented at community events. Weekday’s copy and design elements were subsequently used to create engaging animations, developed by our project partner, GoodChat.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NGURRA

The City of the Blue Mountains is located within the Ngurra (Country) of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. MTNS MADE recognises that Dharug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners have a continuous and deep connection to their Country and that this is of great cultural significance to Aboriginal people, both locally and in the region. For Dharug and Gundungurra People, Ngurra takes in everything within the physical, cultural and spiritual landscape – landforms, waters, air, trees, rocks, plants, animals, foods, medicines, minerals, stories and special places. It includes cultural practice, kinship, knowledge, songs, stories and art, as well as spiritual beings, and people: past, present and future. Blue Mountains City Council pays respect to Elders past and present while recognising the strength, capacity and resilience of past and present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Blue Mountains region.
