Love Local Live

project description

Towards the beginning of lockdown, Fusion Boutique worked with Blue Mountains City Council to organise and produce an interactive live music streaming series ‘LOVE LOCAL LIVE’ featuring some of our local musicians during a time where gatherings and performance opportunities were limited. We curated the program, engaged a local recording and rehearsal studio and production team to supply high quality presentations. As part of the project each of the performers also had a photo shoot with local creative Inertia Photography to provide them with images to add to their portfolio. The multichannel audio and video recordings were also supplied to artists for their ongoing use. Each week we transformed the studio to a visually warm and engaging set and the project brought free accessible, high quality entertainment and real time connection to viewers and interaction with the performers, while supporting and promoting local businesses and creatives. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the first series a second edition was also produced. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NGURRA

The City of the Blue Mountains is located within the Ngurra (Country) of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. MTNS MADE recognises that Dharug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners have a continuous and deep connection to their Country and that this is of great cultural significance to Aboriginal people, both locally and in the region. For Dharug and Gundungurra People, Ngurra takes in everything within the physical, cultural and spiritual landscape – landforms, waters, air, trees, rocks, plants, animals, foods, medicines, minerals, stories and special places. It includes cultural practice, kinship, knowledge, songs, stories and art, as well as spiritual beings, and people: past, present and future. Blue Mountains City Council pays respect to Elders past and present while recognising the strength, capacity and resilience of past and present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Blue Mountains region.
