Experiment in Dimensional Illustration

I have been exploring the possibilities use of a sculptural illustration for a story I've written. I sculpted the faces and used a watercolour ground on them, and assembled the pieces on a watercolour background and we photographed them using different lighting angles and brightness. This particular page depicts an interaction during thewee, small hours, ,between a sleep deprived father and his young son, who wants to help out with the new arrival who keeps the parents from sleeping.
